SAP Garden Wins the 2026 Cityscape Landscape Award
With this award, the international jury recognizes the exceptional quality and significance of the SAP Garden’s rooftop landscape. The green roof structure blends sensitively into the historic surroundings of the Olympic Park and combines innovative landscape architecture with sustainable design.
The overall concept of the roof is recognized
The roof of the SAP Garden is home to the first photovoltaic system in the historic Olympic Park. 808 PV modules were installed on the roof area, which spans over 13,000 square meters. The two-row photovoltaic system surrounds the green roof and provides a self-sufficient energy supply for one of the building complex’s three additional underground ice rinks. Thus, the SAP Garden’s roof becomes an important component of the project’s overall architectural and ecological concept.
The award is presented by PAYSAGE in partnership with the international magazine TOPSCAPE and in collaboration with the CNAPPC—National Council of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects, and Conservators. The award ceremony took place on September 18, 2026, as part of the CITY’SCAPE Symposium & Award at the Triennale di Milano.
