VIDEO: How the "SAP Garden" got its nameInterview with namesake Manfred// NEWSWe are in the opening year of SAP Gardens. In 2024, after a good four years of construction, top-class sport in Munich will find a new home in the Olympiapark. Despite all the anticipation, one thing became clear very quickly: the name.
In the run-up to construction, a name was sought for the new arena in the Bavarian capital in the form of a tender. A favorite quickly emerged from the many suggestions. Sports fan Manfred christened Munich's new landmark "SAP Garden".

"The 'SAP Arena' already exists - the 'Audi Dome' even exists in Munich. These names were already out of the question. The green roof then gave me the idea: let's call it 'SAP Garden'. That sounds modern and does justice to all types of sport," explains Manfred.
Of course, there is also a thank you for the help in finding a name. Manfred receives a season ticket for all EHC Red Bull Munich games and FC Bayern Basketball games in the arena he named.
Watch the video to find out which seat Manfred chose and what he particularly likes about the arena.
