2027 Handball World Cup: Germany games at SAP Garden sold out
The same applies to the quarterfinals (with Germany qualifying) in Cologne. A total of around 180,000 tickets have been sold so far.
There is also great interest outside the German group: even at locations without German participation, some match days are already sold out for the time being. Anyone who wants to experience the 2027 World Cup live should therefore plan early and take advantage of offers.

The composition of the preliminary round groups will become clearer in the coming months. Following the EHF EURO 2026, additional nations will be seeded as group leaders – one per preliminary round group. So far, Denmark has been seeded as the group leader for the preliminary round location in Kiel and would move to Hanover for the main round if it qualifies successfully.
“We were both delighted and surprised by the huge demand at such an early stage. There was no such rush for tickets in 2019 and 2024,” says Mark Schober, CEO of the German Handball Federation. “The main reasons for this are probably our more intensive digital communication with fans, but also the success of our women's national team at the 2025 World Cup on home soil. The women's World Cup silver medal in December gave a boost to the 2027 Men's World Cup.”
Draw for the preliminary round groups on June 10 in Munich
The next milestone on the road to the 2027 World Cup will be reached in early summer: the draw for the preliminary round groups will take place in Munich on June 10. This will finalize the schedule for the venues in Munich, Stuttgart, Kiel, and Magdeburg, as well as the possible schedule for the main round venues in Hanover and Cologne.
The German Handball Federation would like to point out that tickets can only be booked via the official ticket platform for the 2027 World Cup at handball2027.com. Tickets will also be available at a later date via eventim.de and the associated advance sales outlets. Tickets are sometimes offered at significantly inflated prices on external sales platforms. Purchasing tickets from these providers is expressly not recommended. The German Handball Federation will take legal action against such offers to the extent possible.
