On 27 September, the SAP Garden in Munich will open its doors to the public for the first time. EHC Red Bull München will kick off the Grand Opening on 27 September with a game against the Buffalo Sabres from the National Hockey League (NHL). The following week, the FC Bayern basketball team will make their debut in the EuroLeague opener against Real Madrid.
The first sporting event in one of Europe's most modern sports arenas has it all. Four-time German ice hockey champions EHC Red Bull München will host the Buffalo Sabres on Friday, 27 September at 8.30 pm. The Red Bulls' game against the Sabres is part of the "2024 NHL Global Series Challenge Germany presented by Fastenal". The game is already sold out.
An "Open Day" will follow on Saturday, 28 September. Throughout the day, all Munich residents will be able to visit and get a first, lasting impression of the new landmark of the state capital of Munich and its many possibilities. Among other things, guests can experience the new video cube with a total projection area of 209 square metres in action. In addition, visitors can look forward to various show performances that document the variety of uses of SAP Gardens.
Five-time German basketball champions FC Bayern will make their debut on the new floor at Oberwiesenfeld on Thursday, 3 October (Day of German Unity). The focus will be on the cup winners' first home game in the new 2024/2025 EuroLeague season against Real Madrid, with the basketball team's SAP Garden premiere featuring club legends from basketball, football and other sports. The supporting programme also includes a well-known show act. The game is already sold out.
